They change too, the ones who used to say,
“Trust me, I’m not like the rest today.”
I wept alone through the endless night,
Yet they still claim, “You’re not astray.”
The one who once leaned on my shoulder to cry,
Now tells me coldly, “You’re not my way.”
Scatter my ashes into the air,
I’ve burned to dust, no fire to stay.
The hands that tore apart my letters,
Now ask me softly, “Are you okay?”
I once lived in the shadow of sorrow,
But now, even my shadow fades away.
The fate I wrote with tears so deep,
Is now a story for someone to play.
They change too, the ones who once swore,
“Trust me, I’m not like the others before.”
I wait on the roads, but they never return,
Yet I tell myself, “I’m not alone anymore.”
The ones I had bowed to in love and in prayer,
Now whisper behind, “He’s ours no more.”
She was dearer than even the breath I would take,
Yet now she says, “You exist no more.”
They left me behind, moved on with their lives,
But still, I refuse to be a tale of yore.
The one who once wept beside me each night,
Now asks with a smile, “Why grieve anymore?”
They change too, the ones who used to say,
“Trust me, I am not like them in any way.”
The one I cherished more than my breath,
Now claims, “I was never yours,” today.
I gave my heart with nothing to gain,
Only God knows, I never complain.
The eyes that once shone just for me,
Now look at me like I’m lost in vain.
Even after parting, I whisper your name,
Bound by fate, not playing a game.
One day, perhaps, you’ll return in regret,
But by then, I may not remain the same.
They change as well, who used to say,
“Trust me, I’m not like them in any way.”
The ones who once swore to stand by my side,
Now tell me coldly, “You’re not mine today.”
Through storms I have walked, yet never did bend,
I’m strong on my own, not one to betray.
The dreams that they painted with colors so bright,
Have faded to whispers that drift far away.
My silence is deep, but never mistake,
I’m truthful at heart, not one to betray.
They change as well, who used to say,
“Trust me, I am not like them anyway.”
The ones who once swore to stand by my side,
Now claim that I have drifted away.
The dreams they painted with words so sweet,
Shattered like glass, now lost in the fray.
The faces once hidden behind loving smiles,
Revealed their truth in the light of day.
I walk this path with my head held high,
A river I am, but I won’t sway.
They change as well, who once used to say,
“Trust me, I am not like them in any way.”
The ones who once swore to stand by my side,
Now claim that I was never their guide.
Love’s path once felt like a sheltering shade,
But now I see, it’s a game well-played.
The ones I relied on shattered my dreams,
Yet I don’t complain, no matter what it seems.
I never learned to drift with the tide,
I am a river, not the ocean wide.
They change as well, who used to say,
“Trust me, I’m not like them in any way.”
The ones who once swore by my name,
Now claim that I was never their flame.
I walked the path of love so deep,
Only to find, I’m not alone to weep.
The ones I trusted shattered my dreams,
Yet I don’t complain, despite their schemes.
I’ve never learned to drift with the tide,
I’m a river, but not the ocean wide.
They change too, the ones who used to say,
“Trust me, I am not like the rest today.”
The promises once written in my eyes,
Scattered like dreams, fading away.
Smiles once hid the faces so well,
Yet they don’t know, I am not a betray.
The winds have changed their course again,
But mark my words, I won’t sway.
I became what you always wished for,
Yet hear me now, I am not made of clay.
They change as well, who once used to say,
“Trust me, I am not like them in any way.”
The promises that once shined in my eyes,
I saw them shatter—I was just a dream, they say.
Smiles concealed the faces so well,
Yet they never knew, I was never a betray.
The winds have changed their course today,
But mark my words, I won’t drift away.
I became what you wished me to be,
Yet hear me out—I am not made of clay.
