People wear many faces over just one !
They even show what has never been done !!
Speak the truth, and they turn it to a play !
Yet lies are adorned in every display !!
Hiding their own tears deep inside !
They laugh at others’ sorrow with pride !!
I wished for love, a bond so true !
But they turned relations into deals anew !!
There were no cracks in my heart before !
Yet betrayal shattered it to the core !!
At times, they turn thorns into a rose !
And sometimes, even flowers taste like woes !!
Now I trust no mirror in sight !
For people paint reflections in a different light !!
What doesn’t exist, they make it appear !
They decorate dreams in mirrors, people do !!
If you stay silent, they blame it on solitude !
If you speak, they turn it into gossip, people do !!
Who knows what all expectations they have !
They turn relationships into a marketplace, people do !!
If you speak the truth, they consider you an enemy !
They reward lies a hundred times, people do !!
When sorrow comes, they say it was destiny !
In happiness, they write it as fate, people do !!
Now, whom should we trust in any face !
They show us something new every time, people do !!
